IGUANA ISLAND

When we 1st anchored, there was plenty of draft. However Capt. Fernando was not used to the greater tidal action of the Pacific Ocean. He sent some folks ashore, but very quickly found out that he could not get them back.
We had planned on going in after lunch, but by then we could see the boat drivers walking in ankle deep water trying to get through the channel in the reef. Originally we were to leave around 3, but the Capt. changed so the rest of us could get some beach time.
Snorkeling was pretty good here. Lots of Butterfly fish and Tangs here.
I was still struggling with the new camera. The Nikonos was only good for 36 frames, but I could
usually
get a couple of decent ones.
Unfortunatelly I spent the majority of my time here on the launch. First an unexpected return for more batteries. Then I got to help rescue a swimmer who aspirated too much salt water and couldn't breathe. As soon as I got back to the island I began snorkeling, and discovered quite a strong current running. I ended up pulling another exhausted one back out to the launch. I guess someone puts me in the right place at the right time for a reason.
