COLON

ENTERING THE HARBOR PRIOR TO GATUN LOCKS

Going through the Outer Markers

WAITING OUR TURN FOR CUSTOMS AND THE PRIMARY PILOT TO BOARD

OUR "WELCOME WAGON" FINALLY TIED US UP AT COLON

Colon did not seem to be the SAFEST place I have ever been. Even the Duty Free compound was deserted. We took a cab into town, but never went into any stores. This was in a walled in "safe area". You had to go through a gate manned by Federales.
"Seņor, Halto!
SEŅOR! SEŅOR!!!! HALTO! HALTO! HALTO!
HAYYee.... AMERICANS! NO, NO! PERDONEME!!
BUENAS DIAS! COME IN!!! COME IN!!!!"

PREPARING TO GO THROUGH THE PANAMA CANAL!
Everyone got ready for the transit in their own way.
Some with a little more Modesty, Others with a bit of long needed exercise.
The rest of us were left to our own devices.

Don and Wanda were ready to go, as well as the Rumbunnies!
Kris was BORN ready, but....
<---I even think Tomash worked that day.

Rune and his best friend were ready TOO!
Peter sent Yvonne to let us know it was time to GO!

We start by raising their colors. Along with raising a traditional toast between "gentlemen sailors".

OK THEN! IS EVERYBODY READY?

ENTERING......

Here comes our Pilot's crew to help guide us through. I bet they fought over this job!

WARNING!

There is a lot of content on the next page.
Please forgive the photos, as they were taken with no flash.

EXITING........

Webcam footage descending Miraflores

This is the Bridge of the Americas as seen from Panama city.
After we exited Miraflores locks we passed under it.
Captain Fernando asked the Pilot about clearance for the Masts.
No problem seņor, you have over a meter to spare.
