In 2011, we visited a quaint little town.

A little trip up to Napa Valley

Although the weather could have been better,
we strolled along Benicia's waterfront.

We DID make the most of our time at the Dead Fish though!

In August it was Back to Fin-Land!

A trip to Long Island would not be complete without JORDAN'S Lobster Rolls and Champagne with Sally and CALAMARI RINGS from Paddy McGees. We did another moonlight kayak with Empire. This time it was VERY dark by the time we got back.
We'll skip Vito's on the beach from now on even if they DO put up the umbrellas because the food is expensive CRAP.

Paddy McGees was a BIG PHAT PHUN!

There were those who were more interested in our desert though.

Hanging out on the boardwalk with my Honey. One of the street vendors on the boardwalk just before Hurricane Irene came was selling a photo identical to this one.

A few nights later we were down on the beach after curfew but the Cops were not amused. I thought he was going to roll his truck as he whipped it around just to throw out the old fart and his cute date.

With advertising like this how could we NOT go check it out?

We ended up going there twice. They have Fun, interactive (but slow for some people) staff. The excellent drinks, great lobster quesadillas, salads and Lobster Mac and Cheese was worth it. Of course the weather was gorgeous and that always helps. We stopped in for early dinner before going to see Jimmy Buffett at Jones Beach.

Sally knew of a small regional park. We stopped by to hike the trails and saw some very interesting things. We found a nice memorial to flight 800 that had left from JFK and mysteriously crashed off Long Island.

There was an Osprey's nest there. I was hoping to see some chicks but no luck this time.

I did get this guy catching a quick snack though.
I also saw my first Cardinal too
We went to Freeport to catch a boat to go fluke fishing.

This is the boat we went out on taken from Point Lookout's "private" beach.

Flukes looked a lot like flounders to me. I found out that Flukes are "left handed" and Flounders are "right handed". They are all born like normal fish and as they mature, one eye moves from one side to the other. The difference is which side the eye moves from. So now you you know

Next was Jimmy Buffett at Jones Beach

Parking was insane until we found our new best friend who moved their stuff to get us a spot.
Ya gotta love a Parrothead!
Oddly enough, he has gone to several tailgates like this but since he could listen to the music and the party went on out here, he's never gone inside for the concert. Kinda makes me who was the smartest one here?

Hmm... THIS looks kinda FAMILIAR!.

The concert was delayed by an hour due to a huge thunderstorm. Everyone moved underneath the stadium. The rain stayed throughout the concert and naturally stopped as we were leaving the place. The UPSIDE was the lightshow that we had going on behind the stage as it headed toward Montauk.

Next were front row seats for the American Idol Top 10 Tour on Long Island
