They take Security VERY seriously here too.

OK............Well Kinda seriously
Maybe this is why you aren't supposed to take pictures here?

Flying in can be exciting!

You've probably seen a similar photo before.
But I took this at the Sunset Beach Bar where the "Wingnuts" gather each day to get blown away.
And YES! I DID get sandblasted by the jetwash!
Some aircraft can be made more interesting than others though.....

Pasanggrahan Royal Guest House from the beach

Parking in Front can be a problem though! Traffic is funny here as there is only one lane, one way and barely enough room to squeeze by the parked cars. If someone stops to get off or worse, unload something, it all stops until they move. Honking is a unique form of expression.

THE VIEW FROM MY PATIO
The Pasanggrahan Royal Guest House is St. Maarten's oldest and most charming inn. Built in 1906, it was formerly the Governor's home, a V.I.P. guest house, and royal residence, it is in Philipsburg on a white sand beach amidst enchanting tropical gardens. Secluded and offbeat, this authentic, colonial style inn has 30 rooms, the Sidney Greenstreet Bar, and seaside dining. Wendy arrived early and even got them to keep the restaurant open late for our arrival.

YEAH..........YEAH......Yeah. Mosquito nets in every room. OK. The rooms were a little "weathered", but they were very nice, and I personally had few problems with bugs. The showers on the 1st floor were much more powerful than on the 3rd floor though.

This is the street in front of the Passanggrahan.
Note the Berry Christmas sign. It was so weird to hear Christmas Carols in 4 different language with a Calypso beat.

The Thirst Aid Station was close by also. This where the now famous "Lady on Her Own" joined my roommate's harem.

Great view upstairs in this restaraunt. Down the boardwalk you can chill-lax here

This is the beach in front of my room. In the background You can see the World Famous Greenhouse Bar where a group of us met Saturday night before the Trip thanks to Gibson's Sailing list.

This is Kangaroo Court, a bar with good food hidden a block from Hodges Pier. It is across the alley from the courthouse

Here are people on the Foo Foo watching a MOONSHOT! Note the binoculars

Not many people know about the Butterfly farm on the French side.

After that you can always walk over to Orient Beach.

As close as this waterspout was, we only got about 100 drops of water on us
It's a short distance from the Butterfly farm and not quite to Orient Beach. There is a nice shallow bay with a nearly deserted beach and bar called "El Galleon" by the locals. It is so named for the abandoned hotel there, so every taxi knows of it.
