Behind the best store in town. OK, the ONLY store in town.
A short drive away is Muir woods. The gigantic trees are magnificent here.
The forest is teeming with wildlife. The birds just wouldn't leave this Barred Owl alone.
There is beauty everywhere you look here!
Too bad NO DOGS ALLOWED! Fortunatelly back at the cabin there was plenty of room for Poly to run.
Near the mysterious town of Bolinas is an entry to the Pacific Coast trail with a spur leading to Alamere falls.
It was a very hilly 9 miles with wonderful vistas, and we nearly made it to the falls. However, the last ¼ mile was covered in Poison Oak so we had to settle for Bass lake.
There were plenty of things to see here. (such as this deer's butt) Although it was pretty windy in spots, we would have cooked without the breeze.
Tomales Bay Park.
There were about 50 kids here when we arrived,
but they all left just after we arrived along with the vultures so it was nearly deserted.
Across the bay was the kayak launch point for the moonlght paddle.
